Celebrating sixty years of Schiavello

On Saturday evening, Schiavello proudly celebrated 60 years in business, bringing together the people who have shaped our journey over six decades. Founders Tony and Joe Schiavello were joined by their families, employees, clients, partners and colleagues to mark an important milestone—one that celebrated not only the company’s history, but the enduring relationships and shared achievements that have defined it.

While the evening recognised six decades of growth and innovation, it was ultimately a celebration of people. The trust built over generations, the partnerships that have stood the test of time, and the shared commitment of our employees, clients and partners have enabled Schiavello to grow from a family business into the global, multidisciplinary company it is today.

Addressing guests on the evening, Managing Director Peter Schiavello reflected on the company’s remarkable journey, which began on 11 July 1966 when brothers Tony and Joe Schiavello started a partition contracting business from the family garage in Brunswick.

“Sixty years is an extraordinary milestone, and one that we are very proud of,” Peter said. “It’s a chance to celebrate not only what we’ve created, but the people who’ve helped create it, the friendships we’ve made along the way, and the values that continue to guide us.”

From those humble beginnings, Schiavello has continually evolved through a relentless focus on understanding customers, delivering genuine value and embracing the entrepreneurial belief that “Anything is Possible.”

Over six decades, the business has grown well beyond its original foundations, expanding into construction, interior fitout and joinery, office furniture, property development, glass processing, façade contracting, bathroomware and workplace technology.

As we reflected on our journey, we were reminded that our success continues to be guided by the principles that have defined Schiavello for six decades: trust, respect and integrity; the pursuit of quality and excellence; our word is our bond; ambitious innovation; and living with passion. These values continue to shape how we work, collaborate and build lasting relationships.

One of the evening’s most memorable reflections was that, 60 years after founding the business, Tony and Joe continue to work side by side with the same enthusiasm and passion that inspired them from the beginning.

“Some things never change,” Peter remarked, describing Tony’s ongoing pursuit of new ideas and Joe’s daily presence on the factory floor, connecting with employees and continuing the traditions that have long defined the family business.

The evening also recognised the dedication of employees whose long service has helped shape Schiavello’s success. Congratulations to Grant Digance (Furniture SA), and Carolyn Hart, Anh Hoang, Thai Minh Trinh and Kien Tran from Schiavello Manufacturing, who each celebrated an extraordinary 25 years of service. Their professionalism, commitment and contribution embody the values that continue to define Schiavello.
